Pirates are filed under True Crime.
Lewis and Clark are filed under Travel (next to books like guides to hotels in the Western states).

This kind of reminds me of that library scene in _The Shawshank Redemption_, when one the prisoners suggested that _The Count of Monte Cristo_ be classified under education because the book is about a prison break.
